CHAPTER 9

Andrea inhaled slowly. There it was again, the freshly fallen rain scent that was all him. She breathed deeply, wanting to bury her nose between the crook of his neck. What the hell was wrong with her?

She tapped her short fingernails on the arm of the couch. For all intents and purposes, the living room wasn’t in as bad a shape as the rest of the house. The walls looked freshly painted and everything from the shelves, to the sofa, to the floor, seemed clean and well-cared for.

She didn’t know her Aunt Renalda all that well, but it wasn’t unusual. Her Romani family was as big as it was notoriously secretive. Go figure.

The magical artifacts she’d seen when she first entered the house had caused her mouth to drop open. And that was just the stuff on display for all to see, she’d yet to tell Troy about the others.

The items she’d discovered in the attic were priceless to say the least. More troubling than that, several, such as the infamous book that landed her in this mess, had obviously belonged to Dark magic practitioners. Romani Casters could be either White or Dark, but Andrea was a rank amateur. She’d never chosen a side, but if she did, it sure as fuck wouldn’t be Dark!

Those sick fucks perverted the very concept of magic with their blood sacrifices and malintent. She sneered at the thought. Her Puri daj would’ve ex-communicated her sister for even thinking of dabbling with the black arts. Hmm, maybe that is why her grandmother refused to enter this house?

Her thoughts ran away with her for a moment, but quickly went back to the elephant, or rather, giant sexy bird man, in the room. Holy crap! Her mouth watered just picturing him the way he looked upstairs without an inch of clothing to cover the hard planes of his enormous body. And she meant enormous. The guy was huge.

Her pussy throbbed just thinking about being filled with his well-endowed manhood. She was no virgin, but Andrea had admittedly never seen a male specimen as perfect as Troy. He was like a living and breathing work of art. She itched for some charcoals to draw him with.

That was something of a passion of hers. Art, not ogling nude men. Though for him she’d make an exception. She’d spent a lot of time over the course of her travels sketching and capturing the things she’d seen in her notebooks.

She’d love to draw him. Hell, she’d love to do anything with him. Andrea knew about Shifters and some, though not all, of their legends. The idea of being fated for one another was something out of a fantasy. She didn’t know if she bought that. But instant lust, well, that was something she did understand. As it was, the sexual tension in the air was so thick she’d need a chainsaw to cut through it.

The image caused Andrea to giggle as she bit into the steaming slice of pizza her “mate” had handed her.
